(S)election
SYNOPSIS
ALMA (26) is a people-pleaser who is happily waking up next to her girlfriend KATJA (33), a local singer. In that morning, in love, the two women get engaged. As ALMA’s FATHER is running for local village mayor, she meets him for a photoshoot and interview for a newspaper, showing her support. When the news come out the next day, KATJA confronts ALMA with her FATHER’s homophobic statements and her support and
forces ALMA to come out to her parents. ALMA doesn’t want to disappoint anyone, so she does not tell her parents and lies to KATJA about it, celebrating the fake accomplishment with a romantic dinner. When the FATHER wins the elections, KATJA realizes ALMA did not accomplish what she had promised. As KATJA sings a victory song at the celebration party ALMA realizes she has lost her.
