I can’t say that I consciously decided to embark on the path of becoming an animator, because I was initially fascinated by feature films. But that changed when I enrolled in the Media and Graphics School in Ljubljana. There I learned about animated film, which I had not paid attention to before. As part of my education at the time, I took part in a workshop where I produced my first animated film entitled Maslo (2016). I was introduced to the collage technique with this film. In the same year, I also tried my hand at making ‘white board’ animation, and finished school with the 2D animated film Bodeče življenje (2016).
Since animation fascinated me and curbed my desire to create, I decided to continue my education in this direction. I enrolled at the School of Arts in Nova Gorica. There, through lectures and various workshops, I gained knowledge in a wider field; film, photography, animation, etc. During my education, I had the opportunity to participate in Animateka and Stop Trik festivals as part of the student jury, as well as participate in various student projects (feature film, animation) and events. I finished my studies with a short animated film White, Black and True Love (2021) in pixilation technique. During the process itself, I deepened my knowledge and defined my passion, which is researching techniques.
Because I want to erase the boundaries of reality and connect different techniques into works that would tell personal stories with their metaphorical content, I want to deepen my knowledge with a master’s degree in the field of 3d animation, VR and AR content. So right now I’m reaching for my dreams and trying different art and digital techniques. At the same time, I work within an animation studio where I focus on explanatory videos.
