The School of Arts at the University of Nova Gorica is returning to Ars Electronica!
This year, once again, we are part of the international Campus programme at one of the world’s most influential festivals connecting art, technology, and society – Ars Electronica 2025.
At the 46th edition of the festival, taking place in Linz from 3 to 7 September, we will present our exhibition Slow down. Breathe. Feel. Think. Act! – our call to slow down and be present in the digital world.
The festival will once again bring new life to the former postal distribution centre Postcity, a unique space where past and future meet on the edge of art.

You are warmly invited to visit us – slow down with us!
Slow down. Breathe. Stop for a moment, step out of your mind and feel the Earth beneath your feet. Even if it seems that some of us see the planet only as something to exploit for power and dominance over other Earthling beings, our home still exists. It gives us shelter, and though it can be cruel, it is also magnificent, nurturing, wonderful, and ours. We need to be with it — for ourselves and future generations.
Through our AE2025 edition, while questioning whether it’s time to panic or not, we try to ground ourselves, step out of the whirlwind, and touch the earth, the plants, moss, the breath of another living being, hear the birdsong, silence, contemplation.
No, we’re not running away from the world, not from the global situation we are in. We’re gathering strength, sensing what is essential, what gives life, what supports us. Yes, we panic as the world once again rushes towards an impending catastrophe. Yes, it makes us panic when we, through our personal screens, witness genocide, not able to do much more than click to disagree. Meanwhile cities, people, living beings are disappearing while the world is vulgarly divided between the ‘selected’ few and an ‘insignificant’ majority, ruled by those who no longer see beyond their greed. Their lust for control is denying us and other living beings the universal rights of humanity on this planet.
No, we’re not running away. We act — we explore ways of how to survive, searching for possible futures.
As we usually like to do, we invite the audience into an immersive exhibition supported by selected short films, videos, and animations. (Rene Rusjan)
