13 – 23 November 2025, Xcenter, Nova Gorica
At the heart of the festival lies the exploration of alienation and the search for new ways of connection. Pixxelpoint 2025 opens the Fourth Space as a realm beyond fixed identities and digital borders. It invites visitors to step out of their comfort zones and reconnect with their bodies, senses, environment, and with one another. By fostering dialogue between different realities, the festival encourages empathy, opens a space for reflection, and rekindles deep resonance in an era of superficiality and information overload.
Virtual and digital
As Rebecca Allen states: “No one knows how consciousness works, yet we develop virtual and augmented realities.” This paradox invites reflection on the relationship between reality, the virtual world, and art as a language beyond words. Jacques Derrida reminds us that virtuality is a state of potential – always on the verge of becoming real. The festival co-creates situations where the real, digital, and imaginary intertwine, challenging the limits of perception.
Posthumanism and global urgency
In his book After the Apocalypse (2021), Srećko Horvat writes that we are on the edge of an eschatological threshold. Ecological and societal changes demand new perspectives. In the spirit of Rosi Braidotti’s posthumanism, the festival urges us to think beyond the human – to listen to non-human voices: those of nature, ecosystems, and even the technologies themselves.
Hybrid identities
Why always “post-one” or “post-another”, and never “post-something else”? This provocative question from Homi Bhabha explores the “third space” as a site of translation between cultures. Pixxelpoint 2025 foregrounds post-identity practices that open spaces between cultures, histories, and selves. The Fourth Space goes further – offering a place to imagine and build more open, fluid, and inclusive futures.
School of Arts at the festival
Students from the School of Arts will take part in three workshops held at the Xcenter in Nova Gorica:
Saturday, 15 November at 12:00 – with Ivana Tkalčić
Thursday, 20 November at 17:00 – with Nejc Trampouž
Saturday, 22 November at 11:00 – with Andrej Kobal
Through the Fourth Space, the resonant dimensions of art, and the involvement of young creators, the festival opens a space for reflection, perception, and transformation of our shared reality.
