Opening: March 26, 2026 at 6:00 PM
On Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM, you are warmly invited to the opening of an exhibition by students of the School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica at OBRAT, space for art and participation.
The exhibition will be open to visitors every weekday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM until April 17, 2026.
We enjoy returning to Galerija Obrat every spring. When selecting the works, what we wrote before still holds true:
For the third spring in a row, we are delighted to return to Maribor and to a new experience at Gallery Obrat. The gallery’s “living room” opens the exhibition outward—toward the street—both by day and by night, while the interior spaces invite visitors to immerse themselves in stories about the world. Each year, through the exhibition and a range of student works, we reflect on ourselves and our place in the world. At this moment, more than ever before, we are inevitably concerned about the future of the world. How much of this is felt in the students’ works?
In them—whether consciously or not—a personal position is always reflected: the self in the world, the world within the self. The exhibited works, created within the shelter of study spaces, all emerge from these personal positions of the artists—toward their own generation, toward us, the older ones who may have led the world astray, toward society and nature… through explorations of the self, of personal struggles, but also of optimism, perseverance, and connection.
They are quiet, individual explorations, and at the same time testimonies of existence and of a generation’s relationship to the world—a generation that, through its work, connects with global events and breathes with them. They are islands of eloquent silence within a restless world.”
