Advancing Digitally Renewed Interactions in Art Teaching

Number of network: CIII‐SI‐0816‐08‐2021

The ADRIART.CE network is a CEEPUS Central European derivative network of the (Erasmus Multilateral LLP) ADRIART project enabling exchange and collaboration of students and teachers of participating institutions, and operating since 2012/13.

Its aims are to instigate interaction within and among the areas of audio-visual arts (film, animation, photography, digital and analog publication), inter-media arts (spatial, new-media, trans-media) as well as (historical, theoretical, critical) arts discourses, which matches the joint (double) master programme of “Media Arts and Practices” (MAP) that served as the core of the network’s initial development. The short location-specific course runs of the MAP master programme (Gorica, Rijeka and Graz, later extended onto Budapest and Belgrade and Krakow) involve regular student and teacher mobility. This is especially important since the network collaboration revolves around treating site-specific (demographical, social, cultural, ecological, migratory etc.) topics in interdisciplinary ways, since 2018 consistently expanding also into the cross-realm of Art, Science and Technologies, reaching full maturity in digital publication (Mapping the Local e-books) as well as currently expanding onto the realm of animation (the new Animacikel strand).

In 21/22 and 22/23 the network activities further revolve around treating site-specific (demographical, social, cultural, ecological, migratory etc.) topics in interdisciplinary ways. The “Re:Art” strand further explores the potential of a joint programme. The “Mapping the Local” workshop series seeks to develop a network effect with further network partnerships. Gradually expanding also into the cross-realm of Art, Science and Technologies, the network’s activity will continue to be critically reflected in the digital publication series of the MTL e-books. Expanding further into the realm of animation with the new “Animacikel strand“, the network will connect a growing network of art academies from a greater Central and South-East European area.
