How does each material react to light? How does each texture appear? What emotional connections do we have with these elements? What do others associate with the materials I chose? Advanced students are encouraged to combine various techniques (and are asked to plan ahead in order to use a second technique in post-production).
A DIY approach is encouraged, with every improvised solution and method being welcome, the main goal is to realize one’s vision.

As an animator and sound designer, Schwenk competed twice at the Berlinale (2013 with “ECHO” and 2015 with “THE OLD MAN AND THE BIRD”). The film “COPS AND ROBBERS,” (directed by Florian Maubach) with Schwenk’s sound design, won the German Short Film Award in 2018. Another success was Merlin Flügel’s “RULES OF PLAY,” featuring Schwenk’s sound design, which won at Annecy in 2019.
