The Mad About Film youth program of the film-educational Vizo Institute is organizing the 5th edition of the VIDEOREZ contest competition, with which the organizers are looking for the best videoessays in the college/university student and high school student categories. This year they are expanding the competition to an international level.
We are happy to sponsor the awards for the best video essays and thereby support the creativity of young people also in this special film form of expression. The organizers will present the prizes and the best video essays at the end of May this year in Nova Gorica as part of the cross-border festival “Borderless Generation Audiovisual Festival“, organized by Vizo with the Italian organization Young4Fun in Nova Gorica and Gorizia (Italy).
What is a video essay and what does VideoRez encourage? So the organizers:
“VideoRez #5 (2024) is a competition for young film enthusiasts who use film and audio-visual (AV) communication to reflect on the world. VideoRez invites you to look at the world through film and video eyes, to focus on the topics that interest you most about society, culture, youth, media, politics and film itself. VideoRez encourages new thinking, which sees in films, TV, radio, advertisements, series, music videos, journalistic contributions and more, new horizons of perceiving the world, and above all, a new hybrid way of expression. In doing so, we use video essayists. a collage montage film approach.“
Students must submit their video essays by 7 April 2024.
